all I know FWIW is that when I used a Fram filter on my I4 50degree motor, it often took a little while for the oil light to go out, and the engine clatter to die down when the motor started. If I use a Mann this issue disappears. So I use a Mann filter. Unless the store is out then I use a Bosch.
