Subject: upholstering the rear bench seat, 89 Westy
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Hi folks.

Just getting around to upholstering my rear bench seat. Just curious how other are handling covering the seat itself. The thinest section appears to be 3 inches, while the raised sections are 4 inches, which match up with the rear cushion. Are most of you going to the trouble of doing the contouring of the seat, or do you just make the whole thing an even 4"? I would think it would be more comfortable to sleep on that way, but would not look as good. Your opinions please on how to proceed. I've been using a bread knife to cut the foam btw, is this the best tool for the job? I actually got the tip from a upholster who use one of those electric steak knife's with the serrated edges for the job. He did a lot of automobile seats.

Troy
