It shows versatility! It has maybe towed something 15 times, but every
time it was extremely handy. People think these vehicles are so fragile
and they're not. They must be meticulously maintained, but I wouldn't
consider my van fragile.

I'm not sure showing it pulling a trailer is such a plus, at least in
my mind.

Please pass it on if you know someone that could give this van a good
home!
Thanks again for everything.

Already sent this but I hope it goes through this time...
I finally have some images up. The more recent images are inside a
do-it-yourself car wash as it was the brightest area I could find with
it getting this dark so early. The pictures are dark and shadowy. I
can get better one's this weekend if need be during the middle of the
day.
When I wash it bits of the silver come right off the roof! A pressure
washer would take it all off and leave the shiny factory paint.
There are also a couple features I forgot to mention...
-Amp under passenger seat
-Hidden subwoofer under rear bench in custom MDF box for a well rounded
sound system (combined with JL Audio's mentioned below) -Bulldog full
remote start, keyless entry with two fobs. Full parking light flash, 15
minute timer, temperature activation of engine, etc. (yes I know you
aren't supposed to remote start a stick) -Pair of factory shoulder
belts. (one already installed for son's booster
seat) other will be included
-The Roof Rack shown in one of the pictures (Microbus rack with feet
stretched and re-welding/painted to fit vanagon) is also going to be
included

After over 20 years in my family, I am ending an era and finally selling
my 87 Vanagon here in Columbus Ohio. I plan on putting it on ebay, but
before I do I wanted to give the list first dibs. You all have been
great to me over the years!
Specs-
-214000 Single Owner Miles (most in Virginia, FL and GA)
-Wolfsburg with fold down bed, table, jumpseats and all curtains in
great shape
-Brand new full floor mat set from Bus Depot 6 months ago
-Original Waterboxer fully rebuilt top and bottom end at 165K. Runs
strong. (well as strong as a 2.1 can)
-Rebuilt AA Transaxle 4 speed installed at same time as engine rebuild.
(redline fluid installed)
-South African VW 15 inch wheels and new 235/60 15 tires
-Koni Red front and KYB rear shocks
-Recent replaced rear brakes
-Recently replaced full CV half shafts
-Full front and rear bearing replacement within the last year
-Complete front end job 2 years ago. All new bushings, ball joints,
drag links, tie rods.
-Coolant flush and brake flush schedule fully followed
-Mobile 1 15-50 for the entire life of the vehicle (except during engine
rebuild break in)
-Addco upgraded front sway bar. (amazing handling when coupled with the
Koni Reds)
-Original air conditioner that was still working as of last week. (it
is cold here in Ohio now)
-Custom 100W Hello headlamp bulbs and relay bypass
-Custom JL Audio speakers (hidden under original grills, can't see them
but sounds great)
-Pioneer head unit with line in
-Custom under jump seat tray 2000Watt Inverter
-Custom Dual battery setup
-Outside temperature monitor
-VDO Oil Gauge seamlessly installed in front heater cover (almost looks
stock)
-Recently replaced alternator
-Power steering pump and rack replaced 2 years ago (no leaks!)
-Reseal kit applied to fuel tank a year ago
-Some new coolant hoses
-Just replaced spark plugs with NGK Triple Ground standard copper
-New coil, and OEM Bosch plug wires
-Recently replaced distributor
-Recently replace O2 Sensor (heated)
-Recently replaced speedo cable
-South African Hitch with 2 inch Ballmount
-Upgraded brake lights
Now for complete disclosure, what I know could use some work.
-Slight leak when pointed downhill from front windshield. (goes into
passenger floor matt) Has only happened once during a bad storm.
-Top of vehicle was painted silver (when I lived in GA for heat reasons)
Some is starting to peal, but original Dark Grey Mettalic is underneath,
including clear coat. (reason why it is pealing, was taken for a ride
at the paint shop as they didn't sand)
-If I start the vehicle for a few seconds and shut it off, I will get
one sticky lifter for little while. NEVER happens if I let it warm up
each time I start it, just a jaunt around the block and then park it
again.
-There are a couple rust spots that have been treated with POR that
could be easily fully repaired.
-Don't know how much life the original air conditioner could possibly
have left in it, considering this has to be an all time record. But it
kept my family ice cold this summer. I have to add a tiny bit of Freon
each year since it was new. Dealer originally told my family that we
should by an extended warranty from the 2 year 24K because the
compressors always die. What a laugh!
-Fuel guage stopped responding, never worried about it because it was
never very accurate at low levels and odometer and trip meter work
great.

I hope to have current pictures taken tonight when I get home from work.
Thanks again!
