Oh yeah, Dont pour the tras tune in till you get it home. The transmission is sold rebuilt by GoWesty for about $1800 + shipping. I would negotiate 1/2 of this cost and if the head gaskets are weaping, go for the Whole $1800+ to cover both. Check the antifreeze.If it is green, expect head gasket reapirs soon. The only green non phosphate anti freeze I know of is Serria brand. If the antifreeze is less than a 50/50 mixture, the head gaskets are probably leaking.The owner is topping the expansion tank off with water. Thats ok, but leaking gaskets get progressively worse to the point where they wont hold water at all. I hear that Subaru head gasket sealer will fix this up many times. These fixes are not gauranted and reducing the price is reasonable. You are probably the only buyer is sight, too. "If you got it, use it". |
