You may have pulled the wrong 2 screws on the left side. The correct ones inside the left cabinet are recessed in deep holes and you may not have seen them. Also, you mention pulling the cover but I'm not sure what you mean. After the door is lifted off it's hinges, the whole fridge face plate must be removed too. The screws on the middle seam come out and then the face plate swings out starting with the middle edge.
