No, there should be no "flow" thru the regulator.

The injectors were the same for a bunch of car Makes, not just models, for a group of years. Should work without issue.

The AUTOMATIC trans starter may be the same, but I don't know about the manual trans version... ...don't remember which you need, tho. Vanagon may be Vanagon all the way through, if a different bell housing was used from the loaf bus set-up.
