Subject: How expensive to fix these problems?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

I have an opportunuity to buy a Vanagon, the body and interior is really nice, its a 1989 Wolfsburg model. The current owner says it has two problems (1) the radiator fan will not shut off and (2) the auto trans does not always shift up when it should. I was wondering if any of the experts on this list might know how potentially expensive it would be to fix these problems. Once I know, I'll have more idea how much to offer for the van. Or, do you think I should just pass on it. What is a reasonable price to pay for a good Vanagon.

- David
