I apologize somewhat for starting the Veterans day thread. It's 8 peeyem on the left coast and Veterans day is nearly done on the right coast. Be that as it may, as a veteran (1961-63 MAAG), I'm glad my posts at least got many of us to think about things that we perhaps would not have considered being fully consumed in tires, lights, mileage, holes in the netting, leaky fuel lines and the other threads of interest.

Our youngest vanagons are nearing 20, our 'nam vets are nearing 60, the Desert Storm vets are almost 40, our WWII vets are very old and failing yet still standing proud when they can.

So thank you all for thinking about those who served. Visit a VA facility in your spare time and do what you think is appropriate.

I shook hands with nine vets today, three from WWII, five from Viet Nam, and one from Desert Storm. It was easy.

Now back to your regularly scheduled....before midnight turns us into punkins.

Pensioner
