I did not mean to give the impression that the switch was the cause, only that it is a possible cause in spite of the fact that your starter cranks fine. Lots of other possibilities exist. The suggestion to try a jumper from the alternator to the coil is a good one. It is a simple and quick troubleshooting approach. If this cures the failure to start, then you need to pin down the exact reason and fix it.
