I drove the van home, stoped and it wouldn't start again.

I just did some more troubleshooting on the van. I used the jumper
method from the alternator to the coil 15+ terminal and the engine
would crank but would not fire. So this points to something else than
the ignition.

Next I unpluged the engine coolant TEMP sensor in the engine. I
cranked the engine and it began to fire, sputtered a bit, and then
quit. I plugged it back in and it wouldn't fire at all. Now I'm off to
check the resistance on the TEMP sensor to make sure it's in range.
