Firstly, the Oxygen Sensor light comes on every 30,000 miles, triggered by a counter in a box under the driver's feet; nothing to do with its condition. If you run without one, the ECU stays in open loop mode, meaning that your gas mileage will go into the toilet and stay there.

Run the Sensor - its a Good Thing.

The battery light could be a loose belt, worn brush pack, failing regulator or a dying alternator. Is ther light on only at higher RPM but not at idle?
