My '84 coolant warning light flashes inconsolably when I park it for a few days in the rainy season.

It scared the heck out of me the first few times, but now I just regard it as another harbinger of winter. The leaves change colour, the birds gather and migrate, the grey van flashes its light.

Make sure you really have enough coolant, then drive it 'til its warm. That's when mine usually stops. :)
