Yeah..well... I owned an Audi 90 once upon a time.  At the time I had it the car was 15 years old and the 2.3L I5 had 425,000 miles on it.  The clutch was original and everything in the car worked.  The paint looked like hell, but it was a Southeastern US car, so no rust on it.  It even had the original muffler and clutch!  Yes, some parts were replaced, like engine seals, alternator, and the regular maintenance items.  But it ran great and was very reliable.  I sold the car with almost 450,000 miles on it to a friend who proceeded to drive it until the car reached about 475,000 miles, at which point he wrecked and totaled it.

Another friend of mine put over 300,000 miles on his '89 Audi 90 Quattro before he sold it, and that car is still on the road today.

So, yeah, I'd put the smooth and wonderful 2.3L, 130hp I5 into my Vanagon any day.

Now let's talk about all the poor people ( in my surroundings) stuck
with I5 Audi head gasket problem? (in the Eurovan 92-95).

If i would do I5 Eurovan engine, i could be booked for 2 years. I have
decided lately to stick to Vanagon only.

Sorry, i assume the VAG I5 is an Audi engine???
