Hi all. Engine report update: A few lifters felt like they were soft. I adjusted them as best I could, took if for a spin on the highway, and they got *much* quieter. It ran better. Soft lifters likely due to the gas/oil mix in crankcase. Anyhow, it has decent power, idles, and doesn't appear to leak coolant. This engine is likely best suited for a mechanically inclined owner who needs something to "get by" for a while and has spare parts for. Here's a link to some more detailed info on it: http://musomuso.googlepages.com/1.9wbx%22history%22 I thought I'd offer it up here first considering all the help I've gotten from this list! I'm not in the business of selling used parts but I will sell for a *very* reasonable price. You pick up and no, sorry I can't help with the install. No warranty from me. This is an "AS IS WHERE IS" engine. No shipping. It will be removed from van soon, but can be heard running for next 2 days. It is uninsured and engine is not "Air Cared". It is located on the North Shore, Vancouver B.C. Canada. Cheers, Neil. -- Neil Nicholson. 1981 Air Cooled Westfalia - "Jaco" (Bustorius) |
