Subject:   not recharging / DEAD battery
Content-Type:   text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Good morning all. well if its not one thing its another... i noticed about 2 days ago my battery light and EGR light were taking longer than usual to go out after start up... and then they both just stayed on...then my battery went dead. jumped the battery to get home ... made it half way and it died at the light....jumped it again ... made it home ...parked it... now obviously its not charging while i drive right? i am pretty sure the battery is relatively new (no more than a year old) the ground cable looks bad... not on the terminal but where it connects to the metal...very corroded... would that cause it to have a bad connection thus not charging? or is this the alt. that is bad... or maybe the voltage meter? they are all about the same price (for me... discounts rule!) but how do i know which one is the culprit? i need to get her running again before thanksgiving ...we have a big camping trip planned :(

thanks have a great weekend all. Chad 84GL
