Does it make sense to buy the kit and replace everything (whatever "everything is-Bus Depot doesn't specify what's in the kit)?

I guess my question is actually:

Do (enough of) these pieces tend to wear out as a group, to where it's more cost effective to buy the kit--as opposed to buying just the pieces you need?
