And, all a "Knowing" person would have to do is pull the wires and put the original connectors back together, too. That's assuming, of course, that this knowing person had access to the engine compartment.

A potential thief, though, assumes things are standard and doesn't want to spend any extra time trying to figure out what's wrong.
