Hey, great question!  I too have a key which fits only my front doors and
back hatch.  Can I get a cylinder for the sliding door handle which works
with the same key?  How's it done?

direct from VW?)

Also can replacement door lock cylinders be ordered keyed to the
vehicle?  I cannot operate the lock on the side (sliding) door on my
van using the key it came with (a duplicate, and unfortunately the
only key I have).  My first thought is that the duplicate is worn or
poorly cut, and just not good enough to operate the lock.  The other
possibility is that the side door lock has been replaced at some
point.  The key I have does work in all the other locks (ignition,
both front doors, and rear hatch).
