You're quite right. I've never heard of anyone wanting to know fuel consumed per hour at idle. You're the first ! a pioneer. Any excuse to spend time with the attractive assistant anyway ! so get to work and we're awaiting you results. Be sure to document conditions, altitude, ambient temp, engine temp, humidity, etc. And how lively is your oxygen sensor ? -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Michael Elliott Sent: Monday, November 26, 2007 3:30 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: Calculate fuel consumption when idling? Yeah yeah yeah, I understand the drill. I don't normally keep equipment for transporting and handling gasoline around the house. Heck, I figured that the rate of gasoline consumption when idling would have been determined long before I got this van, and would have triggered a slew of "it's in the archives, you lazy so-and-so" responses. But I was wrong. I was very wrong. I gather that I'm the only one who has ever needed to know this information. Time to break out the white lab coat, clipboard, give my attractive lab assistant, Inga, a call, and do my own darn research! -- Mike "Rocket J Squirrel" Elliott 71 Type 2: the Wonderbus 84 Westfalia: Mellow Yellow ("The Electrical Banana") 74 Utility Trailer.
