Hi Warren,

I think that what we have here is the unfortunate combination of an unmotivated seller and a free advertisement. It's not a new phenomenon, the asking price on splitwindow buses has been stoopid- expensive for years.

It's unfortunate because the pricing on thesamba often gets confused with real value. It's not at all uncommon for people to ask astronomical prices in a free classified ad, but when push comes to shove and real cash is offered they settle for half that. But does the online ad get updated? Of course not.

But then maybe every now and then some uninformed lottery winner will come along , and since they don't know better the seller will get their asking price. I've heard it could happen, but it certainly doesn't occur very often.

Happy Trails,
