Our Chrysler Town and Country minivan had a similar digital reading in the over the head "on board" computer setting. it too, was a little optimistic, but relatively speaking it did the same thing as a needle-based vacuum gauge. My add on VDO vacuum gauge on my van is getting old enough that the needle does stick in spots, but eventually I will replace it.
