Subject: Saw Benny Boy on I-81 yesterday!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

I guess our prodigal son Ben is doing well so far on his trip to Mexico. I happened to look over in the South Bound lane of I-81 yesterday in central Virgina and saw the same van I had just seen the night before on Ben's website. Maybe other folks who live along I-40 should be on the lookout for a bright red westy with a white top and a bra on the front (not to mention a crazy Canadian at the wheel). We could post our Ben sightings here to the list to track his progress!

I was on the way back from a ten day trip to Georgia. Drove my 90 Carat down and back with no problems. Over 1400 miles with no problems at all. Drove all day long at 65-70 mph, kept up with traffic up all of the long hills. Just set the cruise control and listened to the kids watch movies on the back. No special conversion. Just a recently rebuilt waterboxer in the back. These vans can be reliable. However I knew this trip was coming for the past year so the van got a good going over on the braking system, suspension, rebuilt engine, coolant hoses, belts, etc. If you want a trouble free trip, you have to do the PM. The van has almost 300k miles on it so everything is due at this point. Ran great though! Glad to be back in NJ.
