Right on, Unca Joel! I love Rain-X too, but realized the danger one time when it was raining really hard, I was driving about 65 and passed someone who was doing maybe 35, with his windshield wipers going furiously, hunched over the steering wheel trying to see where he was going - - I hadn't even noticed anything beyond a sprinkle and hadn't turned on my windshield wipers yet! Gotta be careful!

First time I used it, I'd picked up a bottle and hadn't used it yet - - ran into freezing fog (nasty stuff - - the tiny spheroids of water don't freeze until they hit your sub-freezing windshield, then splat! they form a layer of ice), went through probably a gallon of windshield washer fluid, and finally in desperation applied the Rain-x. Voila! Was able to continue on down the road rather than parking it for the night and losing about 10 - 12 hours of travel time!

One other thing - - the newer the glass, the better it works. If you have an old windshield with thousands of tiny pits from blowing sand on it, the Rain-x doesn't work so well.

Gary
