Yep, you were right, Scott, regarding the black/red wire from the starter. I tapped into it by removing a short section of insulation and soldered one of the leads to the switch and then applied 2 coats of liquid insulation followed by wrapping the outer sleeve with some electrical tape. The other lead was fitted with a ring connector and bolted to the alternator output. A few zip ties to keep the wires in place and a velcro loop to secure the switch up high in back of the air cleaner and it was good to go. Sure beats having to run a wire down to the starter solenoid!
