Thanks all, for the replies and comments. A quick check of my local AutoZone and NAPA stores reveals they have nothing like it ("Uh Oh, here comes that guy that's always looking for weird German parts".) I did buy some of the corrugated wire conduit ½" size, which looked in the store like it would fit. It does, but it is too tight to slide on, so you have to force it open and over the hose. Then I thought about all of those tiny corrugations just waiting to fill up with dirt, oil and moisture, and decided against using it. And the suggestion about using the foam insulating tube, it is way too thick to fit through and under where the fuel line runs. Plus, judging from the scorched and burned appearance of the old stuff, it would melt. So I bit the bullet and ordered the right stuff from TBD this morning only to discover it is dealer-only so may take a few days, so the van will have to sit outside and get washed by the approaching rain storm. At least I can get most of the hoses and injectors off and work on removing/replacing everything inside the garage. Jerry |
