Subject:   '81 Westy For Trade
Content-Type:   text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

I've got an '81 aircooled Westfalia (yellow) with not too much rust at all and am looking to trade it. I love this thing and hate to get rid of it, but I have had little time to work on it and have not driven it for a year and a half. Location: Detroit, MI. I'm not looking to sell it right now, but will trade it for one of these:

- DiAcro metal shear of this type: http://www.diacro.com/diacro_products/diacro_hand_shears.html - Brand new washing machine and dryer set (fairly decent capacity) - An original Austin MG Mini in need of TLC but working/drivable - A few acres of land in northern lower Michigan - An old-school motorcycle in good working condition

If you are interested in it and can offer me one of these things, please let me know. I'll send pictures of the Vanagon too. Here are some of the specs:

- Mileage: I have no idea as the speedometer was broken for quite some time and is now repaired. - Condition: It generally drives, but not right now. I attempted to put in an electronic spark gap and haven't quite gotten that working. That was 1 1/2 years ago. It's been sitting in my driveway ever since. Have taken it on numerous trips up north (Michigan) camping and down to Florida/New Orleans once with lots of fond memories. - Engine: Brand new. Only has around 2,000 miles on it. My friend and I replaced it with a quality rebuild a few years ago. Probably needs some work/tuning though as we're not experts really. But the new engine got us to Florida and back! - Has the icebox/sink combo, no stove. - Heating System: Completely shot (surprise).. I'll throw in "Mr Heater" a catalytic propane heater that has only seen plenty of service on Northern Michigan trips (hint: crack your windows =))

Thanks! -Rob
