For access to the rear of the speakers (air conditioned '85) carefully
pop the rubber caps off the screws which are all around the brown
plastic grille facia and remove the screws. The Facia will then pull
out leaving the hole that those with storage there would see. You can
then reach behind the speakers.
A thin bladed knife might be useful for popping those screw caps off.
If you're careful you won't leave any marks.
