Several months ago, there was a several part series on the latest in coolants. Based on that I chose Zerex G05 when I changed the coolant in my '88 Westy earlier this year. Haven't put many miles on it, but so far, so good. I bought it at Checker Auto (store has different name in other areas). It was about $11.00/gal, still cheaper than the VW stuff and available locally.
