WD40 and spray it on the various wires and such.

WD=water displacement. That's what it is for

2nd battery makes a convienent self contained emergency jump start capability. A small honda generator allows you to recharged a battery if you have gone too far down the road of not being able to start your vehicle.

A propex heater installed allows you to be warm while you are contemplating what else to try.
