I've just started getting those emails as well. They look 100% real. It looks just like an eBay email and its from and alleged member who "has not received payment from you and does not want to start formal complaint procedures against you". My first thought was "hey... I never ordered a Samsung BoomSki Box from this guy..." and my second thought was "stupid eBay...I gotta clear this up" and that's how you get snookered. Most people will know they didn't order the Samsung BoomSki Box so they'll just assume that its just an eBay snafu and punch the "Respond" button in the email to get eBay to sort it out.

NEVER RESPOND TO ANY PRIVATE EMAILS FROM EBAY. Always use the eBay My Message service. If eBay or a seller has an issue, it will surface through the My Message service.

I've only been burned once by a seller and eBay sorted it for me and got me a refund---from a guy in Brazil no less. It was only fro $20 but I felt a lot better that they went after the guy for me and it only took a couple of days.

There's NO reason to pay anyone anymore than a small deposit on a Vanagon (content) before you go pick it up. If the seller insists on full payment being sent, its time to hang up the phone.
