What about the vacuum line from reg to air intake distributor? Fuel pressure regulator diphragms do fail.

If yours is failing/failed, and the vacuum hose is too, is it possible that fuel might leak out at the connection or from the hose itself?

If not, and it were me, then I'd just replace the suspect fuel hoses and clamps.
