I forgot to mention that I always rig a extra wire in the engine compartment that is connected to the trigger terminal on the starter solenoid, And I connect my remote starter switch to that to operate the starter. I keep a plastic twisty wire splice on the end of it for an insulated cap. I usually make it long enough so I can touch it to a hot battery post ( like on a diesel vanagon with the battery back there ) or to a hot alternator post, but I don' recommend touching it to things like as a normal procedure - sparks and damage and all that. But then, it's right there to clip your Remote Starter Switch to, and for a brief test or emergency you can just touch it to hot high amperage voltage if you need to. I make it a little hard to find for anti-theft reasons. Scott www.turbovans.com

Cool. Didn't see Mikes post. Personally I've never carried a remote starter switch, but you never know...... I like the idea of a switch in the engine compartment. IIRC, the pre 75' Honda Civics had them. They "killed" that option quick. At least for the North America market. Too many foolish people leaving the car in gear? Wouldn't be a tough install. A couple wires, a mounting bracket maybe and a "temporary on" push button type switch.
