Everyone picks their own level of "what I'm willing to deal with in the field." I don't know how many on this list would choose to replace a blown head while camping, but if such manly men exist they might feel superior to the next fellow who says "screw this," and calls the tow truck. The fellow who chooses to replace a failed starter in 30F weather can sneer at me because I do not choose to climb under my van in 35F water to hook up a manual start switch. But I can replace a wiper blade and could be coaxed into sneering at the fellow who takes his car into the shop for that -- if I didn't keep in mind that there are those who find my level of "what I'm willing to deal with" totally pitiful and girlish. One hopes they, too, remember that there might be others who actually bring spare starters and heads camping.
