RE: Does anyone know how it is possible for "The Criminal Element" to do such a thing. I thought that with a vehicle purchase on e-Bay a buyer had the "Right" to retract a bid once he found out that the vehicle wasn't as advertised.

I don't know how it is being done but I ran into a real slick one last week that even had eBay fooled for a short time. I have several standing searches on eBay that run every night. One day last week my email from eBay had a 'new listing' in it for one of the items I've been watching for. I clicked on the link provided by eBay and got a perfect looking eBay page. BUT I also got an immediate warning from software I run that it was probably a bogus site. A look at the URL confirmed that it was NOT a normal eBay address. I tried to contact eBay about it but there was no way to get to them that I could find. The usual mail to spoof@ebay was bounced, that address is only good if forwarding a phishing message. Later in the day I checked and the listing was gone from eBay. But some one had figured out a way to redirect, probably code buried in an actual listing on eBay.
