Hi. Thanks very much for the link. I am sure however, well, just like Chip says, they already have existing laws that address the problem..........it simply makes no sense that you couldn't park a vanagon on the street overnight. Over 72 hours, no. Camping in it, probably have a law against that. And I can see why they wouldn't want big RV's parked all over. But a vanagon westy ..............can't imagine they could ever just plan outlaw ALL parking for a vanagon size vehicle with a pop top. And you're darn right there are far more serious problem in Oakland , Ca. Regarding the vehicle code law ............it must include things like length of time parked, and size of the RV. There have long been laws about parking RV's in your front yard and that sort of thing, but it can't be absolute that if it is some form of a camper, however small, it CAN NOT be parked. Just doesn't make sense at all. Well, it should be very obvious that government and laws are just out of control, all over the place. I think the fundamental factor is over population. And I hate being cynical, but it's really getting to be a joke, how many laws there are and what extreme restrictions there are. And I do appreciate that you can't smoke in restaurants and bars anymore, that you can't panhandle within 50 feet of an ATM, you can't be aggressive in panhandling etc. But it is getting ridiculous. It's crazy many places, but this is why I don't live in California anymore, nor would I. I did have 13 quite nice years in Sausalito not that long ago too. I sill would like to see the precise wording of the proposed law if you have that, or can paste it in or something. And that's so much for your 'Responsiveness' ! even THAT is getting to be somewhat rare these days it would appear. Scott Turbovans

His point is that with the murder rate what it is here, and with so many other problems, why is our city council worrying about RV parking? |
