Of course, it seems that most bike riders around here don't know that it is illegal to ride a bike on a sidewalk as well in within the city. I've had some interesting confrontations with nazi cyclists when me bumper blocked their way on the sidewalk... Segway? Don't get me started! Please ride a bike! Cheaper, more reliable, 0 emissions, healthier for you and you won't look like a nerd riding it. Sorry, but those things are a menace on the local bikepaths which we local cyclists fought long and hard to get. Motorized vehicles are prohibited on bikepaths but none of the Segway riders seem to know this. The first time some old lady gets plowed into on one of those things, the local city officials will be ready to ban ALL two-wheeled transport. Check into your local ordinances before getting one---there's virtually no legal place to ride them besides the street. They are not legal on sidewalks or in bike lanes--- at least in CA anyway. Apologies if you have disability issues and a Segway would help you get around. Jeff
