Yes to locktite. When I remove or reinstall the roll pin I use a flat piece of plastic, or what ever is handy(even a credit card or drivers license will do) and place it on the armrest side of the pin to protect the material while I drive the pin in or out. This both protects the armrest and makes it easier to see and drive the pin. A 1/4in bolt about four inches long will do the job.
