And therefore you are running way too cool, and wasting fuel, and hurting your engine. I run only the 78 C t-stat, and like to see the temp needle just on the right edge of the LED. I get seriously nervous if the temp needle won't get above 1/4. I'm serious too, you are really wasting fuel and hurting your engine. Cooler is not better, warmer is. This 'cooler is better' is left over from the air-cooled days. Do whatever you like, but you are costing yourself considerable $ / year in wasted fuel costs, not to mention shortening the life of your engine. Scott foss www.turbovans.com

Excellent advice. I was at this point about this time last year. FWIW, you CANNOT use the mufflre mounting bracket from the 2.1-I tried, it doesn't fit. Also, following Jim's write up, I used the cooler thermostat, and my gauge rarely ever reads above the 1/4 mark. Jeff
