Remember you have no contract with *his* insurance company. You are not obligated to accept any settlement you don't feel is satisfactory. The longer you keep the claim open, the more accomodating they will become. Eventually they will want to settle to get the claim closed.

Ask them to find you a replacement camper that is in equal condition to the one their insured destroyed.

Disclaimer, I'm not a lawyer, but I've read a lot of these kinds of threads on various groups and this is generally the suggested strategy.
