No need to worry much anymore about the quality, at least in Baja. Virtually all the old station tanks have been replaced in the last few years. More stations with more working pumps than ever, but still a few gaps on the road where it is far between stations unless you plan ahead. I have bought Pemex gasoline hundreds of times, for my Vanagons as well as my outboards, even from drums when necessary. In places where people often get caught low on fuel guys sell it from drums on the side of the road at boarded up stations.
