I can still shift to any gear including reverse with clutch pedal depressed. So the sliding hubs, sync rings and gears all that are probably not the cause of the noise. I really feel that it is the sleeve that connects the driving shaft coming into the bell housing with the main shaft in the gear box. It is probably cracked and can not link the too shafts any more.
