We used to make fun of Earl Bowden (one of my in-laws - great guitar player!) as he was always afraid of trees falling. He wouldn't camp around trees, didn't even like being out when it was windy. Then one year he was out 'hunting' on Quartz Mountain (southern Oregon), actually sitting in his Jeep Wagoneer near the ridgeline, having coffee before he headed out, when a tree fell across the hood of the car. Definitely one of those 'I-told-you-so!' moments, and he lived through it! Matt When you live around trees, there are lots of tree stories.
