Because this is the Vanagon List :-) Things that barely relate to the original inquiry tend to gravitate to that end. Unlike Geza, I tend to hit the DELETE Key to keep the posts from cluttering up the thread with teensy fixes to mileage consumption and other "save the earth" comments unless they're particulary useful. To each his or her own, but I'm all for keeping the environment as healthy as possible, but this does no good towards solving the original problem inquired about. OTOH, be glad they're a bit "looser" here than say on the Type 2 or VintageBus List. They tend to run a tighter ship elsewhere on off-topic stuff like this (which is why they spun-off from us almost a decade ago). Now I'm off-topic myself, so I'll shut up about that ;-) I will vouch for what David Marshall has posted about Scandinavian models having DRLS (or DTRLS, whatever). My boss sometime back imported a 90 Tristar from Sweden and it had 'em. When it got Federalized, it was done away with by the guy doing the job. -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 73 K Ghia Coupe "Denise" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com *********************************** On Dec 14, 2007 10:11 PM, robert feller <syncro.carboncow@gmail.com> wrote: > Man this list takes the word tangent to a new level! > > How did we get from me inquiring about an obvious hack I can disable to > headlights consuming .25mpg and killing the ozone? jeesh! > > Shawn |
