Hi VW4x4, The scenario is this: a new-to-me vanagon, previous owner and mechanic both ham-fisted, no relay on the panel is clicking when the rear defrost button it thrown, many blank areas on relay panel. If you know what position the relay is in on an '88 it would be helpful. I know about the likelyhood of window defrost line damage.
