Well, yeah!  There are trees, then there are trees...

If I had a good solid 200 year old oak, and nothing has changed around it,
I'd park right there.  Check the branches occasionally.

But in a forest of conifers or small hardwoods, I'd argue that there's not a
year where something _doesn't_ come down.  Good luck predicting which one.
We don't notice because we don't stick around long enough to see it happen.
On one field study (tailed frogs) I walked or jogged ten trails (trails of
my own making, in the Wallowa Mountains) 2-7 times a week for two years.
About 4K total distance.  There was almost _always_ a log I hadn't seen
before.

Wish I'd had my Westy back then.

Whatever, as long as you feel good about it.
I don't know the numbers ..........it would be interesting to find out, but
trees falling and damaging things isn't that unusual I don't think.  I know
of quite a few cases.
  ALL trees eventually come down.  Part of their cycle you know.
