I do 1.9 engines current price is $2750 The 1.9 case has the same type of main bearing as the aircooled bug with a differant larger rear main next to the flywheel. There is 2 problems rebuilding the 1.9 lower end first there are no align bore bearings availible. the second problem is that most most reasssmblers dont bother to measure the case and just toss in a st of std OD bearings. Yes this will last past most warrantees with a nice heavy duty oil pump to keep the oil light out at idle but is this the kind of quaitly your looking for I think not.

So your asking why I offer 1.9 engines if there are no bearings and they dont last. I have had made a over size rear main bearing and use the bug align bore bearing for the front three mains. I can also align bore any flat 4 engine block with my Rotler boring bar.

My recomendation for your van is upgrade your van to the 2.1 engine it bolts right in and the 1.9 components work. The cost for this would be $2750 for the longblock plus core $600 as this is an outright sale. This also saves you the return freight of $150

The bonus with using the digjet injection on the larger 2.1 engine is that the European ECU can be used I do have a few left for sale to my engine customers
