That's very good to hear . I always say where mechanics and electrons interface, it's a weak spot. Like points in a points & coil ignition system, and a phonograph needle too. So getting rid of a mechanical sweeper is highly desirable. How much does gowesty charge for their air mass meter thing ? how is power, drivability and fuel mileage ? Is there any fiddling or programming or anything, other than just installing it ? Thanks, Scott www.turbovans.com

oh, on stock air flow meters, they work all right, but I always keep a spare or two around. And Air mass meters aren't totally fault free either, I have a couple of used spares for my 88 turbo Volvo. With spares you can check and compare the results of cleaning them, tell for sure when one is working or not, etc. If the gowesty AAM is really good, and not super expensive, and works like you'd hope, I'd sure be putting them on any keeper vanagons of mine.

The guys at gowesty, with the help of folks splitsecond in orange county, have engineered a system that replaces the guts of the AFM with a more modern 'hotwire' system.

I have one on my 2.4 wbxer and it's been working well since the springtime (put it in and tuned it prior and during SdM this year)
