Subject: NVC: (Fri Post) Skiing Christmas thru New Years, Invite

This is a social Friday type post without Vanagon content: weather discussion, invitation, where to ski, 13-year-old.

We are expert skiers and would welcome the chance to ski with other list members over the holidays (through the 2nd).

We includes 13 year old son.

We are having a devil of a time trying to predict where the next big snow dumps will occur during that time.

We were going to Ski Stowe, but that looks like it will be rained out badly on Sunday. The entire east is going to get hit.

We were going to switch to Quebec, such as Le Massif or Mt. Tremblant, but those too look like they will be rained too.

Anyone watching the weather for the next 2 weeks?

I am now thinking of switching to Whistler or Alta/Snowbird, but still clicking around.

Anyone who is working on the same problem please email.

I am actually the cause of the Friday tradition allowing for posts that have less Vanagon content in them on Fridays. I can't remember exactly where the Friday part of it came from, but the tradition was started after, in 1994 and 1995 or so, I used to scream at everybody begging for them not to post anything but serious technical content. Posts that merely said, "I think so too" also used to drive me nuts. Since then, I have been able to configure my mail to make off-topic posts more tolerable, however (see "How To Live With Heavy List Volume--Mail Filters" http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Syncro/message/7403 ) so I am not as sensitive as I once was.

This post that you are reading is very iffy, I feel, from the point of view of appropriateness even for a Friday, but I'm sending it anyway because it is sincere and because the Vanagon Syncro is in many ways an ultimate ski vehicle.
