There are graphic adapters that supports dual monitors. I have one AGP adapter that does that. It is no different from regular graphic adapters except it has two sockets for connecting two monitors. I believe there are PCI versions too. Just go to any computer store and look for graphic adapters with two monitor sockets. Once the driver is installed it will support dual monitors.

I only plug in one monitor. I had a hard time to remember which socket is the default one for the first monitor.
