I would not worry about the plastic hose but that plastic junction piece is a severe failure item, with burned up vanagons because it gets old and brittle. They are available new and some fuel line replacement kits even include a new one. Otherwise, replace it with a metal junction or skip it entirely by running all one piece of new hose being careful to avoid any rubbing problems at the firewall.
